Cashmere Fabric
Our cashmere fabric is characterised by its exceptional quality and luxurious nature, providing a heightened sense of comfort that is unique. This fabric is particularly well-suited for the winter months and bespoke tailoring purposes such as suits, jackets and overcoats. The natural fibres are obtained from the highland goats (Capra hircus laniger) inhabiting the Changthang valley in Ladakh, situated at an elevation of 15,800 feet above sea level.
The Cashmere goats are allowed to roam free and they feed on the organic vegetation indigenous to the Himalayan slopes, ensuring their diet is both natural and free of artificial substances. The natural fibres are derived from the undercoat of cashmere goats and possess an extremely small diameter ranging between 14 and 15 microns, exhibiting exceptional softness and length. The wool is handspun into yarn which is subsequently woven on a loom. The weaving procedure typically spans a duration of around 21 to 28 days. The cashmere fabric we provide is meticulously made, demonstrating a high level of attention to detail. It is characterised by great quality and durability, making it a valuable and long-lasting item that will be cherished for many years.
By choosing us, you actively contribute to our endeavours in promoting the sustainable development of the Changpa tribe, fostering the growth of the weaving community, and facilitating the sustainable breeding of cashmere goats.
